The Role: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Buckinghamshire

My client is a service provider delivering hosted solutions to their clients within the media and entertainment marketplace.
They are now looking to expand the existing support team in the UK with the appointment of an experienced Technical Support Engineer.
About The Role:
The role calls for a candidate who is comfortable dealing with clients to provide a high level of customer support and service.
The position is based at the company’s office in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, but will require working within their data center space in the surrounding area, so it’s essential to be able to drive.
Principal Responsibilities:
* Equipment build and test – including Workstations, Servers, and Storage Systems
* Operating system load and configuration
* Server, workstations, and storage fault find and repair
* Equipment installation at the client’s premises and the data center
* Responding to client support requests via the support system
Candidate profile:
Knowledge and experience required:
* Good understanding of Computer Servers and Workstations
* Good understanding of the Windows Operating System (Linux would be an advantage but not essential)
* An understanding of networking and network configuration
* An understanding of Storage Systems
Personal skills required:
* The ability to work well under pressure
* Good communication skills
* Ability to identify, prioritise and solve issues
* Eager and ready to learn, and self-motivated
Details:
* Competitive Salary in the range of £30K to £55K depending on your experience (the level of seniority of the role is somewhat flexible)
* 5 weeks holiday per year (additional day given for Christmas with some cover arranged with the rest of the team.
